Our Ride

The ride is back on, but we changed our destination. Instead of going down to the Keys we are driving up the Georgia and Carolina's coast. This is something I've wanted to do and since we may be living further south we can do the Keys trip at another time. So you Carolina people out there tell me what we must see along the way. I really love lighthouses and I'm so excited to get the chance to see so many. My mom and nephew are coming down to keep Shane and the dogs company while we are away.

The baseball saga continues, Shane's team won last night so that means we are playing again tonight. If they lose they are out but if they win they have to play two games tonight - they are still in school so he will be so tired tomorrow. There is a chance of some thunderstorms later today so we can hope for rain!

Ha! You sound like a "younger me" praying for rain. One year I had a newborn, one playing T-ball, one playing baseball, one playing tennis, and one softball. Luckily the next year the oldest got his driver's license! The youngest lived at the ball field watching older brothers - he has refused to play baseball! PS Thanks for the list!

Good Job Shane! I didn't see any rain this evening out this way...so I guess y'all played again? When are you leaving on the trip?? I bet it will be so fun. It's too hot to go to the keys now!

Oh Oh!!! Are you going to Savannah? You gotta hit Tybee Island and visit the lighthouse there. It's a beautiful drive and I just LOVE Tybee. You can hit the highway from Savannah (I can't remember the #..maybe 27 or 17?) and go across the Tallmage Bridge from downtown and get to Hitlon Head that way (there is a lighthouse there too).

I HIGHLY recommend Mrs. Wilkes Boarding House in Savannah for lunch. It's on East Jones Street right off Bull Street. Gah, I really miss Savannah sometimes. Get some pralines from River Street too.

I remember the baseball tournaments with my son. I used to be torn because I was soo ready to go home and wished they would hurry and lose but at the same time I wanted them to win....

LOL

Hilton Head is nice, but I suggest Edisto Beach. Not a bit touristy at all. Go to the Sea Cow Eatery.

Hilton Head is a must if you like beaches. Its more of a retired resort type place but extra extra clean!!

Savannah and Tybee are also great destinations as well. The Tybee lighthouse is amazing!
