Round two

We went to my parents house to celebrate Shane's birthday party #2. It was a great weekend with lots of time to visit my parents and brother and his family, Cole had to work so I didn't get to see him very much. Friday after Shane got out of school we headed to my parents, since husband was going to the race in Atlanta I had both dogs. We dropped Nyla off at my brothers house (he has a really nice fenced in backyard with a pool, the pool use to have a fence around but not anymore) once we got Nyla situated and visited for a few minutes we headed to my parents. Maybe an hour later my brother called to tell me Nyla fell in the pool, thank goodness she figured out how to swim and was heading in the direction of the steps. My brother dried her off and let her say in the laundry room for the night. Oh by the way it snowed early Saturday morning, every time I go home I bring either cold weather or snow. I've never know it to snow two times in one year and thank goodness it was melted by the time I got up.

Saturday I was on a mission to find some red shoes, how hard could that be right? I have narrow feet so I have to find shoes that come in narrow - almost impossible. I was so excited and optimistic when I started out but by the end of the day I was so frustrated, why can't I have normal feet or better yet wide feet, there were tons of those shoes! Maybe I'll stumble on some one day when I'm not even looking.

Today after church my brother and his family came over and mom made lasagna for lunch then we had this wonder cake, that chocolate icing was so good.
Shane blowing out his candles - lucky him he got two wishes this year.
The kids.

Oh my Gosh...Nyla fell into the pool? glad that she is okay. That must have scared her. There is a law here that you have to have your in ground pool fenced in.
The party #2 looks like a good time. It is nice to have family near by to celebrate with....

Have you tried zappos.com for your shoes? You can order narrow sizes and it is free shipping both ways.

You're so right about that... you can never find the right shoes until you're not looking for them!

Mmm-mmm another delicious-looking cake!

I'm so glad Nyla is okay. I know how that feels...scary. That cake looks so good. With Shane's birthday cakes and the husband's retirement cakes, it's been a good cake year at your house. You sure did bring that snow to Alabama!
