Weekend recap

Saturday didn't too much went to inlaws to discuss and plan a menu for husband's retirement party. I think we've gotten all the details down and everyone invited. Monday we are going shopping to get all the food and order everything that needs to be ordered and get decorations.

Sunday we had some nasty weather come through our area and we were without power for about 5 hours. Before the weather got bad husband was trimming the trees around the fence that Shane and I started a few weeks ago. It's amazing how fast things go when you have someone strong cutting the limbs down. Husband cut and me and Shane hauled the limbs to the street. As husband was finishing up he looked up and saw this black snake (OK really he jumped back from the tree with his arms in the air - don't tell anyone!) What is so strange is I noticed the black thing in the tree earlier and thought to myself it was some kind of rope or torn trash bag - wrong. After seeing mr. snake I was too scared to go near the tree again, hopefully he will be gone tomorrow so we can finish up. This is a shot with my zoom on.
This is husband about 6 inches from snake, when he took the picture the flash went off and mr. snake was not happy, he reared back and hissed then went backwards. I know I'll have nightmares about him all night tonight.

WOW! That's a really big snake! And in the tree! Oh my goodness, I guess I never thought to look up in the trees for snakes before. Yikes. Scary that you were so close to it and didnt notice it before! Your husband should feel no shame for jumping back like that. I would have been totally freaked out.

And yea! for the party planning. That's so much fun.
