Field Trip

My boss and I took a field trip out to the Cape on Wednesday and I mean to the very end, all the way to Provincetown. We usually go out to lunch at Christmas on the office and she had been wanting to take me out to Cape Cod for a while and show me around (husband and I went last year but didn't go to the end). Now that I'm leaving she said we had to go. I'm really lucky to have such a wonderful boss and our office is very tiny - just me and her. So we left around 7:30, it takes 3 hours to get out their. This is the bridge you cross that unofficially means you are on the Cape.
This is the very end of the Cape, I was trying to get the lighthouse but my zoom wasn't strong enough - I knew I should have brought husband's camera.
This is on Coast Guard land, this building can be rented out for different events. I thought it was a really pretty building.
We had lunch at Fanizzi's, it was so good, forgot to take a picture of my lunch but I had scallops with rice and veggies. For desert we had a very wicked chocolate cake. This is looking out from our window, we were actually over the water. If you look close you can see two seals on the boat, they showed up a couple of days ago.
This was a shop we passed in town, very interesting!
This was also very interesting, a Christmas tree made out of lobster traps.
Looking into town from the docks.
Of course another lighthouse.
According to this, the pilgrims actually landed here first and decided the land wasn't good enough for their crops so they headed to Plymouth.
Another interesting site.
This is my boss' favorite beach, it was very beautiful and surrounded by dunes.
Looking down from the dunes.

Isn't the Cape so beautiful?!? The winter is the best time to visit. In the summer you just sit in traffic.

Now that's what I'm loving seeing! It is so beautiful and the picture of the buildings in town is just how my mind imagines New England coastal towns. I bet that food was good. I know you are going to miss your boss and job and she is REALLY going to miss you. I read that long book on the Pilgrims last year and they did land on the cape and decided not to settle there!! It is amazing to see the sights that relate to that time.
