School year ends

The school year is finally winding down around here. At S’s school they have an 8th grade graduation – very strange to me but whatever. I even saw in the store 8th grade graduation cards, I really think that is getting a little ridiculous. Anyway tomorrow they will have a graduation ceremony I’m assuming complete with some sort of diploma then afterwards a party for the kids which will be fun for them. A lot of the kids from his class will be moving this summer (remember we are military), most people try to wait until the kids get out of school before they move. We had to move in the in the middle of the year only twice, I always hated that for the kids.

I’m on my countdown until vacation, things I’m looking forward to doing: Of course spending time with oldest son and rest of my family. Spending time with RPM. Going to the beach. Enjoying hot, sticky, humid weather (I’m serious too). Afternoon rain showers. Being lazy and not on a schedule. Doing a little bit of outlet shopping and regular shopping.

Vacation! Yeah.

We had an 8th grade graduation. It was BIG deal. But our school was small and it was k-8 so we had all been together for a long time. We processed down the aisle in pairs, women carrying roses. I sung a duet with another classmate. There was a valedictorian...speeches. Like I said. BIG DEAL. It was fun. That was the last time I saw a lot of my friends.

Those things all sound fun to me. I like your list very much. Well, except the humid weather. I'm not jealous of that one. : )

I wonder why they started that graduation thing with middle schoolers? It is nice that they get recogniztion but really, it just seems like another thing to spend money on. When you come down this way, bring some rain with you cause we aren't getting much of anything out here. I remember one time when you were down here, I was driving over to see you and there was the worst storm happening and I was out in it! I was wishing I was in my bed. I love to be in the my bed when there is storm.

My husband thought it was weird when Luke had a pre-k graduation! Have a great summer!

WE got a couple of big storms here today...scared me to death! I thought we were fixing to have a tornado one time. But I'm glad to have the rain for the plants and animals.
