A possum has decided to make our yard it's home. These are the most disgusting animals ever. Last week Nyla got a hold of it and Shane thought he killed if (even more disgusting). Apparently the possum was "playing possum" and wasn't really dead. It's going to the dogs food bowl looking for food. Part of me feels sorry for it because I think Nyla probably messed it up some way but the other part of me really wants it gone from my yard. Tonight while peeking out the window before I let the dogs out I saw it by the food bowl. I slapped my hands trying to scare it so it would leave, it only turned his head and slowly starting walking away. I tried to get a picture of it but I'm not brave enough to get close to it so I found one on line.

They are creepy indeed!
We had an armadillo who kept coming in to our yard when we lived in GA.
They are mean! I feel sorry for them, too. But they just scouring for food.
Poor little guy... I don't like them either, but its hard not to feel sorry for them.
they are NOT attractive little critters. but if it's hungry that's pitiful. maybe you could put a bowl of food for it WAY out in the yard, lol.
I raised 2 orphan possoms years ago. They don't live to long, 2/3 years. They are great mousers, they will keep the rodents down. They also like to clean up under fruit trees.
They really are not mean, just wild. They are a tad slow so they hiss and show their teeth. They sound pretty awful.
Ugly, yes, incredibly ugly. Mercy!
Awe, I didn't mean to make you feel bad. Why God made these amazing creatures so dang ugly I'll never know. Just know that they are not aggressive and they seldom carry disease.
But the ugly cannot be overlooked.
