The weekend

We had a nice Saturday, husband got in around 3:30 and we ran some errnads, got a couple of books now that the weather is getting cooler I'll be more in the mood to read. I was waiting all day for the Alabama vs Tennessee game - sorry Tennessee fans but Roll Tide. I hope they can keep their winning streak going.

Sunday we had a little bit of drama (this is a little long). I woke up around midnight with such pain in my chest area. My first thought was acid reflux, I take prilosec everyday but this just seemed different. I moved my pillow and tried laying on the couch but every time I tried to lay down the pain was more intense. I took my prilosec and ate about half a bottle of tums, still no relief. When husband got up he said we should go the ER, I called my mom and she said the same thing (I guess I'll never stop calling her for advice!) So husband was going for his walk, he and Shane had plans to play golf so I told him I didn't want to go to the ER. Once he left I took myself - boy was he mad at me for doing that when he got home - of course he and Shane came up to sit with me. Anyway when I got to the ER I told them I was have pains in my chest - I said not really chest pains as in heart attack. I tell you that's the fastest way to be seen in the ER! They immediately hooked me up to an EKG, drew blood (only took three times to get an IV started. Anyway the EKG came back normal, my blood pressure was really high so they went ahead and gave me nitroglycerin, the first one didn't really do anything so they gave me another and the pressure on my chest was relieved but the pain was still there. Since the nitro didn't do any good they gave me a GI cocktail to see if it was acid reflux, that was some nasty tasting stuff. That did anything either so the doctor decided it must be an inflammed muscle between my breast bone. He gave me a shot of toroidal and it took the edge off the pain, I was so relieved that my heart was ok but what an ordeal to go through. Before I left he gave me a shot of morphine and something for nausa and sent me home with motrin and pain pills. Once I got home all I wanted to do was sleep since I'd been up all night. I slept for a few hours and started the meds when I woke up. Thank goodness last night I was able to sleep through the night. I guess I'll have the pain until the muscle gets back to normal. I decided to take a sick day, husband has to go back tomorrow so I can spend a little more time with him too.

Oh goodness! I so glad it wasn't anything serious. That must have been scarey though with them running all those tests. I hope you are feeling better now.
