Continuing on my trip - next stop Charleston. We went to the Boone Hall Plantation and what a beautiful and interesting place. Since the owner lives in the plantation house no pictures were allowed, the rooms we were able to see were so pretty and some of the furniture was original to the plantation. This picture is as you drive down the road to the plantation.
This is a movie prop that was left and the plantation uses it during halloween.A sweet grass basket, this was made by one of the ladies that works on the plantation and I was able to meet her. I've always wanted one of these after reading so much about them in some of the books I read.
My final lighthouse, it sits on Morris Island outside of Charleston and as you can see is in need of repair.
After we left the lighthouse we had just enough time to visit the Irvin House Vineyard, we enjoyed tasting the different wines.

I loves these... have you ever been to Maine? These pictures remind me of it...
I love the old Movie Prop shack... reminds me of that BBQ shack RPM used to go to before it closed!
I just love Boone Hall. I had to make a pilgramige there after seeing it used in the North & South miniseries. That drive/avenue is absolutely gorgeous.
Looks like you had a lovely vacation. I love the Savannah area. I haven't been in a good many years. My son was there last summer and enjoyed a meal at the Lady and Son's too. He was nice enough to buy me a T-Shirt from her gift shop and he brought me one of her business cards. I love your lighthouse pics.

that plantation is so pretty. I never realized how many plantations are in South Carolina until I looked it up online and it's amazing there are so many. And a couple you can stay in. Sounds like a wonderful trip for you and your mom.
