Husband's trip

Husband started out on his trip Saturday morning, one of his friends was going to go but decided not to so he was going it alone. I was a little apprehensive about him going by himself, he was fine about. Anyway he left Saturday morning and called me throughout the day, said he was really enjoying himself and the weather was great. He arrived at his destination OCC late on Saturday. He was really disappointed, no Paul, Pauley or Mikey – he really didn’t expect to see them anyway. They are redoing their shop which will be open next year. The shop they have now is really small and you can’t see them making the bikes, this is what he really wanted to see. I’m sure he’ll take another trip back when they complete the new shop which will have nice windows where you can see them building the bikes. He decided since he wasn’t that far from PA he would continue riding so he made it to Scranton and started looking for a place to stay. Forgetting it was Labor Day weekend he had a really hard time finding somewhere to stay and of course the rates were jacked up like crazy. Sunday morning he planned to go to the Harley shop in Scranton, grab a shirt and come on home. He called me around noon on Sunday and he had broken down but he had made it to the Harley shop, pushing his bike part of the way and getting 3 different jumps. Of course it’s Sunday and the service department is closed and Monday is a holiday can you see where this is going? Anyway the people at the shop were extremely nice to him, they ran some minor test just to make sure it wasn’t something as simple as his battery and of course it wasn’t. By now it is late Sunday afternoon, the guys at the shop take him to the airport so he can get a rental car to drive home. They have to order the parts for the bike which will take a few days. He gets a rental car ends up spending the night somewhere in NY and finally arrives home Monday afternoon. Now he has to go back this weekend and pick up his bike. Here are a couple of pictures from the shop, they really do beautiful work. You can click on pictures to enlarge.

That would have to be a fun trip. I hope to get to go one day to see because I know my hubby would love it. Sorry that he had such a rough time though!

Okay, my husband would have totally freaked out if it happened to him! He would have been calling me every step of the way, did yours call you like that??????

My husband has been to the Harley plant in PA. He was there on business and they gave him a tour. He loved it.

What an ordeal! I'm so sorry that that happened to him and then to have to go back this weekend. At least he was able to get to a place where they could help him though

Sorry his plans didnt work out like he had hoped! That's a big bummer. Hopefully the bike isnt too expensive to fix.
